Connor & Hilliard is also a leading law firm in mental health law, providing legal advice and services to mental health hospitals, clinics, long-term care facilities, individual mental health practices and professional associations. In addition to conducting civil commitments, guardianships, and appeals on mental health issues, Connor & Hilliard serves as General Counsel to the Massachusetts Psychiatric Society, a professional organization with a membership of approximately 1,700 licensed psychiatric physicians. Connor & Hilliard also represents twenty (20) inpatient psychiatric facilities throughout Massachusetts. In addition, we are the only private law firm serving on the state-wide District Court Committee for Mental Health and Drug and Alcohol Addiction, chosen by the Chief Justice of the District Court. Our attorneys have extensive experience in dealing with the Committee on Public Counsel Services (CPSC), and also have extensive experience in teaching and writing on the subject of mental health law.
